Casting/Props and Costume

In my film there are only two characters:

The first character is a male Caucasian teenager aged 17 and his film name is Jack Loomis, this is inter textual reference to Halloween, Scream and Psycho because the last name Loomis was used in all of these films and they are all horror films which is my chosen genre. We think the character is correct for this film because he is the correct age and fits the rest of the characters description.

The second character is a female Caucasian teenager also aged 17, but we have decided in my group not to give her a character name because the story line of the film is that the boy Jack is in a coma and he is dreaming. So the girl is the evil character (which is part of props theory of the 7 characters) and the evil character weather its a monster or serial killer they don't have a character name. We picked this girl for or film because she has long black hair and pail skin and the reason for this is because the film has inter textual references to the ring.

We also used a third person, but you do not actually see her in the production. She plays the role of a person speaking at the beginning of the production when the screen is black and all she says is 'Loomis, Loomis, Loomis wake up'. She is aged 17, but we used her because she has a mature adult voice.

Props and Casting:

The only prop we used was a normal school chair because they are plain and simple and there is nothing special about them so it doesn't get the audiences attention. We didn't use a large fancy chair such as an office chair because it could signify something totally different which would not fit in with the type of genre of the film and also all we want to do is emphasize the girl sitting in the chair.

The male character "Jack Loomis" was dressed in a costume which suited the narrative which is that Jack falls into a coma and eventually wakes up in a hospital bed. So we used a costume which related to a hospital which was a pair of pajamas.

Then for the female we used dark clothing which included a black T-shirt, black trousers/leggings and black shoes (Gothic style). This is one of the reasons why we picked this particular girl to fit the character as she has long black hair. The black costume for the female also signifies a horror film and also it is a stereotype for a scary character, because if you were to apply the commutation test the girl wouldn't look as scary in bright colour full clothing, it would just give off the wrong impression (an optional reading).
